Touch A Life Africa Mission works by standing with trusted organizations that are already rooted in their communities. Mount Vernon Hospital Gordon, in Kipipiri, Nyandarua County, is one of them.
A HOSPITAL ROOTED IN COMMUNITY
Inspired by the story of Bartimaeus, the blind man who cried out until someone heard him, Mount Vernon Hospital Gordon in Kipipiri, Kenya, exists to listen to those who are often unseen. Many people in the community carry struggles that don’t show, such as poverty, unemployment, addiction, depression and isolation. The hospital was founded by Dr. Samuel Karimi to respond to them.
Set quietly at the foot of the Aberdare Ranges, the hospital offers general outpatient and inpatient care, a dental clinic and diagnostic imaging. It also runs a counselling and rehabilitation program, and looks after each patient as a whole person: body, mind, emotions and spirit. The aim is not only to treat symptoms, but to help people regain their health, rebuild their confidence and find hope again, with special attention to the poor and underserved.
Dr. Karimi, founder and managing director of the hospital, walks into homes and neighbourhoods around Kipipiri, building trust one conversation at a time. Healing, as they see it, begins when a person knows they have been seen, heard and valued.
Mount Vernon Hospital Gordon is a Kenya-based organization and does not hold its own U.S. 501(c)(3) status. Gifts made here are received and administered on the hospital’s behalf by Touch A Life Africa Mission, a U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
"GO, YOUR FAITH HAS HEALED YOU."

Samuel Karimi.
